First Farmer’s Market of the Year

Kris Selling Produce

Thursday July 1st Kris, our farm intern, had his first experience at a farmer’s market. Three of our CSA members came to the market to buy more produce and we met a lot of new people. We are very excited to be at the “Black Hills Farmer’s Market” every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 AM-3 PM. Tell all your friends to come down and find out what things like purslane, Bianca Lodigiana and Italienischer are and how to use them in your favorite recipes.

We have added some new links, one new recipe and some pictures of more of the farm crew recently. Check out the Dakota Local Food Network link under Blogroll and the Local Roots Farm website under Links . Local Roots Farm is the farm that Larry started with Siri and Dan in 2006. We enjoyed farming in the Seattle area very much and thought you might like to see where our love for farming was born. You can thank Siri and her husband Jason for introducing us to the many  unique varieties we are now growing this season.

  1. Wow – your lettuce is stunningly beautiful! Everything looks great, but that lettuce is extra amazing.
